About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Appletree Medical Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients administratively, including reception, scheduling, and collecting payments.
  • Prepare patients clinically, including hosting patients in the exam room and performing triage.
  • Apply scripts, scenarios, and clinical skills as required.
  • Utilize our Electronic Medical Record system (EMR Advantage) effectively.
  • Maintain inventory levels by stocking exam rooms and other areas of the clinic.
  • Ensure a clean and quiet environment by cleaning and sanitizing exam rooms, foyers, and bathrooms.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures of the clinic.
  • Manage records and documents, as well as other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Opportunity to train in one or more specialty programs, such as Travel Medicine, Allergy Testing, Foot Care, and Well-Baby, following a 3-month probationary review.
Requirements
  • Must reside in Ontario.
  • Must be permanently eligible to work in Canada or possess a valid Work Permit for at least 12 months.
  • Active role requiring standing and moving around the clinic to perform various tasks.
  • 1-2 years of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • An undergraduate or bachelor's degree in health science, Kinesiology, General Science, or Arts is considered an asset.
  • Six months to one year of experience in a customer service environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with proficiency in other languages an asset.
  • Commitment to working days, evenings, and weekends, with flexibility to work at multiple clinic locations.
  • Passionate about personal learning, training, and ongoing development.
