Nurse Educator – Order Sets and Clinical Pathways

The Nurse Educator plays a vital role in the development and implementation of clinical pathways and order sets at Southlake Regional Health Centre. This position requires a strong background in nursing education, clinical expertise, and leadership skills. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the inter-professional program team to achieve program objectives and advance professional nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provides leadership and guidance on standardized order sets for CPOM and collaborates with stakeholders involved in the corporate order set process.
- Acts as a main representation on CPOM working groups to provide information and guidance from a nursing lens.
- Acts as a resource for the CPOM project, bridging the CPOM Project Team and clinical teams to ensure project goals and milestones are met.
- Contributes to specific project working groups relevant to nursing staff, such as Barcode Scanning and Nursing Clinical Documentation.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational programs for staff and plans appropriate program delivery.
- Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways and patient care guidelines.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based practice activities and educational information for clinical staff.
- Monitors nursing and healthcare trends/issues and collaborates to integrate relevant information into education activities and responsibilities.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates evidence-based outcome-oriented changes in clinical practices and care delivery processes.
- Coordinates, implements, and evaluates content and process of patient teaching programs.
- Participates with other educators and professional practice facilitators in development and delivery of corporate clinical educational programs.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- 5 years relevant clinical nursing experience and preference for previous Nurse Educator experience.
- Best Practice Spotlight Organization Champion designation or willingness to pursue within one month of hire date required.
- Canadian Nurses Association certification (CNA) in related field or willingness to pursue within one year of hire date required.
- ACLS and BCLS required.
- Masters in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Completion of Patient-Centered Care course or equivalent preferred.
- Current RNAO membership preferred.
