KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the precise and timely execution of payroll for employees in Canada and the United States. Generate pre and post-payroll reports for internal auditing to ensure all payments correspond accurately with recipients. Examine and reconcile earnings and deductions across payroll cycles to identify and address discrepancies. Assess payroll outcomes for the reasonableness of gross versus net compensation. Serve as the primary support contact for payroll inquiries from the Employee Services department. Ensure the accuracy of financial posting entries and complete all postings punctually. Regularly verify banking transactions to detect rejections and collaborate with Employee Services to issue payments as necessary. Coordinate with financial institutions regarding payroll-related transactions. Oversee the daily CMA interface, rectify table entries, and reprocess to guarantee the accurate disbursement of wages to Running Trade Employees (RTEs). Process and reconcile all third-party payments, including but not limited to tax payments, union dues, and garnishments. Engage in year-end processes as needed. Perform additional responsibilities as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience. PCP certification or progress towards certification. At least 2 years of experience in a payroll environment. Experience with SAP Payroll is advantageous. Familiarity with US Payroll is beneficial. Ability to adhere to strict processing timelines and deadlines. Proven capability to collaborate across various functions. Strong communication skills. Awareness of scenarios requiring high visibility and consistent communication. Willingness to work non-standard hours to meet processing deadlines. Access to sensitive employee information necessitates a high degree of confidentiality.
