About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Assistant to join our team at Jelly Bean Daycare Centre Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our children and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweeping and Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and debris.
  • Window and Surface Cleaning: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, and perform minor repairs on appliances.
  • Groundskeeping: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Snow and Ice Removal: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physical Demands: The role requires repetitive tasks, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Personal Suitability
  • Dependability: We are looking for someone who is dependable and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Work Term: This is a permanent position, with a typical workweek of 30-40 hours.
  • Work Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
