Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all systems on mobile equipment, including engines, transmissions, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance, as well as excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair all systems on mobile equipment, including engines, transmissions, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance program for mobile equipment.
  • Accurately document and track all work completed through a CMMS system (SAP).
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Participate in World Class Manufacturing and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Valid Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic journeyman with an interprovincial Red Seal.
  • 5+ years of experience as a HD mobile equipment mechanic.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Outlook) and ability to acclimate to a PC-based maintenance system, CMMS (SAP).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Enthusiastic team player who is organized and self-motivated.
Working Conditions:
  • The unionized mine operates on a 5 days per week schedule.
  • This is a permanent, full-time position (Days).
  • This position will be based at the Kootenay West Mine near Canal Flats, with the opportunity to work also at the Windermere Mine Operation in Windermere and at the RLO located in Invermere and Canal Flats.
  • Mine and RHP operations are operated outdoor with exposure to weather conditions, dust, and noise and industrial solvents and lubricants.
  • Ability to physically cross uneven ground and pile of loose rock with required equipment and samples in adverse weather conditions.

  • Competitive salary range: $73,046 - $100,489 per year.
  • Annual bonus: 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
  • Total target cash range: $94,640 - $146,832 per year.
