Job Summary:

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using nuclear medicine and PET-CT technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general PET-CT and Nuclear Medicine procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
  • Assist the Nuclear Medicine physician with specialized procedures, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort by adhering to infection control and radiation safety protocols.
  • Direct and plan daily patient flow in the department, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing wait times.
  • Assist with clerical functions such as data entry, record-keeping, and communication with patients and staff.
  • Participate in student training and education programs, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Maintain competence by staying up-to-date with industry developments, attending workshops and conferences, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in good standing.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine, with a strong foundation in radiopharmaceuticals and imaging technology.
  • Knowledge of Ministry reporting responsibilities and PET Scans Ontario/OH-CCO processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of the technologist's duties, including 12 Lead ECG, peripheral IV, sentinel lymph node, and PICC line injections.
  • Ability to use all types of imaging equipment and ancillary equipment, including hot lab equipment, with a strong understanding of radiation safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently to assess and prioritize requests, review resources, and provide patient care.
  • 3 years' experience in a community hospital setting, with a strong understanding of clinical operations and patient flow.
  • Current BLS training, with a strong commitment to patient safety and well-being.
