Pembina Hills School Division is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Student Transportation Assistant. This role requires a self-directed team player who can provide support and encouragement to a student with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support to a student with diverse learning needs during transportation to and from school
- Establish positive relationships with students and adults to create a supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with the classroom teacher, special education lead teacher, and consultants
- Work independently and as part of the school team to ensure the student's needs are met
Requirements:
- Experience working with behaviorally challenged and non-verbal students is an asset
- Ability to set clear boundaries, communicate effectively, and work independently
- Ability to work in a flexible learning environment and establish positive relationships with students and adults
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as a member of the school team and take direction from the classroom teacher, special education lead teacher, and consultants
