JOB OVERVIEW
The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department plays a crucial role in fostering a healthy, inclusive, and vibrant community. This department ensures that residents and visitors have access to various recreational and cultural facilities, programs, and events that enhance their experience in the city.
As a Community Services Representative, your primary responsibility will be to support the Recreation Facility, Arts Centre, or assigned programs. This includes managing cash transactions, providing clerical and administrative assistance, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to our patrons.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage cash handling and financial transactions efficiently.
- Provide administrative support, including program registration and information dissemination.
- Ensure a welcoming environment through general supervision and customer service excellence.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery and program effectiveness.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates should have completed Grade 11 and possess at least one year of experience in an administrative capacity while interacting with the public. A college diploma in Administration, Recreation, or a related field, along with relevant experience, is considered an asset.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- Current Standard First Aid certification
- Current CPR - 2-rescuer certification
- Current AED Operator certification
- AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and electronic cash management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Language requirements may vary, with some positions necessitating proficiency in English, French, or bilingual capabilities. Candidates may be required to undergo a police record check as part of the hiring process.
