Spark Power is seeking a skilled Wind Turbine Technician to support various scopes of work across Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic testing, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components/systems of wind turbines.
Key Responsibilities:- Travel to various locations across Canada to perform maintenance and repairs on wind turbines.
- Climb wind turbines to perform diagnostic testing and maintenance tasks.
- Complete reports, checklists, and hazard analysis as required.
- Participate in company and customer HSE/training programs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to our partners in the industry.
- Follow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
- Scheduled maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators, including inspection, greasing, cleaning, torqueing, and tensioning of bolted connections.
- Apply LOTO and perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Follow and implement work procedures for specific scopes of work to inspect, repair, and maintain Wind Turbine components.
- Populate, track, and communicate client and company documentation on a daily basis.
- Maintain a clean work area, equipment, and tooling.
- Perform other daily work requirements as directed by Site Management.
- Valid GWO Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, First Aid, ART, BTT, SGTT, GE Tech Essentials, GE Maintenance, GE Fundamentals, GE Converter Training, SGRE Basic Profile, SGRE Maintenance Profile, SGRE Troubleshooter Profile, Vestas Training, Acciona Training, Borescope Training, and Fiberglass Repair Training certifications.
- 2 years of wind industry experience or equivalent experience in wind construction, annual and semi-annual maintenance, base bolt tensioning, oil changes, electrical troubleshooting, retrofits, blade/fiberglass repair, major component exchange, transformer maintenance, and substation maintenance.
