The Vancouver Airport Authority is seeking a dedicated Asset Integrity Specialist (Mechanical) to join our Baggage Operations Department. This permanent full-time role involves collaborating with the Manager of Baggage Systems to establish, implement, and oversee comprehensive asset management strategies across various asset categories. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background complemented by business insight.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate and execute an asset management strategy, coordinating efforts with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective asset delivery and maintenance.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to identify areas for enhancement and manage necessary modifications.
- Provide engineering and technical expertise through risk assessments, compliance audits, and thorough reviews of processes, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Champion safety and quality initiatives by supporting technical and operational evaluations, audits, and incident investigations.
- Analyze investigation outcomes, root cause analyses, and specialized studies to recommend viable solutions.
- Oversee a continuous improvement program, monitoring system performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing trends, and planning for each stage of the asset lifecycle.
- A post-secondary degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a preference for candidates with a background in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) relevant to mechanical, electrical, or computer science disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in airport facilities or industrial environments, focusing on asset lifecycle development and management, as well as engineering specifications and standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized, capable of managing diverse data sets across various formats.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Successful candidates must obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card and a Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A) to fulfill job responsibilities.
