Job Summary
We are seeking a high-achieving Forest Planning Specialist who is passionate about planning and resource development, and working with local and Indigenous communities.
This role requires a data-driven individual who is a fast adapter of technology, and able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement forest development plans, including harvesting and silviculture activities.
- Consult with stakeholders, including local and Indigenous communities, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Prepare and submit cutting permit applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Write reports and perform general office tasks, maintaining accurate records and data.
- Travel frequently throughout BC to meet with clients and stakeholders.
- Comply with all company safety policies and general company policies.
Requirements
- Registered Forest Professional (RFT or RPF) designation.
- Minimum of two years experience in forest planning, appraisal, and cutting permit development.
- Experience with FESBC and other provincial funding opportunities.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations and community forests is an asset.
- Valid BC driver's license.
- Working knowledge of the BC regulatory system.
Compensation
$75,000-$90,000 annually.
