Job Title: Food Scientist

Griffith Foods is a global leader in the food industry, providing a wide range of taste and texture components to customers worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Food Scientist to lead our Research and Development projects in Canada.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing R&D projects, conducting scientific experiments, and developing new and optimized products for key clients. This role requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a strong understanding of food science and technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage R&D projects and conduct ongoing scientific experiments to develop new products and technologies.
  • Offer recommendations for new products, processes, and solutions.
  • Operate specialized equipment, evaluate materials and products, and assist in production trials as required.
  • Communicate professionally with all departments, clients, and suppliers.
  • Maintain GLP's, GMP's, and accurate laboratory records.
  • Provide leadership and training to junior scientists.
  • Participate in sensory panels and customer presentations.
  • Participate in internal cross-functional teams to assist with special projects.
  • Responsible for maintaining the security of all information regarding product formulas and related confidential information.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with all product safety, regulatory, and quality requirements, and with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in Food Science or related technical degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Research and Development or related experience within the food industry.
  • Experience working with Food Service/QSR and Seafood Processors is considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel as required.
