Job Summary

The Paramedic Educator is a key member of the Hamilton Health Sciences team, responsible for developing and implementing course curriculum for paramedics within the Regional Base Hospital Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement course curriculum for paramedics
  • Oversee the delivery of the Annual Practice Review and other Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs
  • Train new paramedic employees and provide remedial training as needed
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including service operators, medical councils, and provincial bodies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or related field
  • Graduate of an Advanced Care Paramedic program or Primary Care Paramedic program
  • Diploma or certificate in Adult Education
  • Experience in adult education teaching principles and program development
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Educator/Instructor in prehospital care
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards related to prehospital emergency care
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification as an ACLS and PALS instructor
  • Experience with reflective practice principles
  • Ability to lead project coordination and organization
