Opportunity for Child and Youth Support Specialist

We are seeking passionate and experienced Child and Youth Support Specialists to join our team on a casual/on-call basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting students' academic growth, social-emotional development, and overall well-being.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students, assisting them in developing essential skills for academic success and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and implement behavior management plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Facilitate group activities and workshops that promote positive social interactions, communication skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights and collaborating on student support strategies.
  • Contribute to the implementation of specialized programs funded through SIP grants, enhancing educational opportunities for students.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a recognized Child & Youth Worker Diploma.
  • Have a minimum of one year of experience working with children and youth in an educational or social service setting.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of diverse ethno-cultural and racial backgrounds, fostering inclusive practices.
  • A Child & Youth Care Degree and membership in the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counselors are considered assets.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive hourly rate of $36.35.
