We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division.

Job Summary:

The Education Assistant will provide support to students with various needs in the learning environment, working under the direction and supervision of the Inclusive Education Liaison, classroom teacher, and principal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with special programming needs in the learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide physical support to students as needed, including lifting, transferring, and positioning
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Education Assistant Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience working with students with special programming needs
  • First Aid training and experience with augmentative communication systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
