Job Summary

Associated Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Contaminated Sites Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental services group, you will be responsible for assessing and remediating contaminated sites across British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site assessments and investigations to identify contamination sources and develop remediation strategies.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans, including sampling and testing protocols, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to provide expert advice and guidance on contaminated site management.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices to ensure effective and efficient site remediation.
  • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including clients, community groups, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or applied technical diploma in environmental science, hydrology, physical geography, earth science, chemistry, water resources, or equivalent areas of practice.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduation experience in contaminated sites, with a strong understanding of BC's contaminated sites regulatory environment.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., EGBC, BCIA, APBBC) or equivalent Federal certification body.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, with proficiency in word processing, data analysis, and data presentation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, track progress on multiple tasks, manage logistics, and meet budgets and deadlines.
