Key Responsibilities:
- Spearheading the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks throughout the lifecycle of nuclear construction initiatives, ensuring that safety and compliance with regulations are prioritized.
- Working closely with project stakeholders to scrutinize plans, specifications, and site conditions for potential risk factors.
- Crafting and executing customized risk management strategies that address the distinct challenges of nuclear projects, including safety concerns, regulatory compliance, and environmental impacts.
- Actively working to prevent budget overruns, schedule delays, and quality issues through strategic risk management approaches.
- Continuously tracking project progress and risk indicators, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet project goals.
- Promoting open communication and collaboration among diverse teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project alignment and success.
- Upholding Bird's safety management system, policies, and values to foster a culture of safety excellence.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field, or a combination of education and experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in construction project management or risk management, particularly within the nuclear sector.
- A comprehensive understanding of the construction project lifecycle and the associated risks specific to nuclear initiatives.
- A proven history of effectively managing risks on complex construction projects while navigating regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
- Strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver reliable results.
