Position Overview:

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing material handlers and orchestrating the production timetable. This role requires a dynamic individual who excels in multitasking and problem-solving, capable of fostering robust relationships both internally and externally to ensure timely fulfillment of customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise material handlers, including monitoring work hours, compensation, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and manage the production schedule, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Coordinate release schedules with mills, external suppliers, and clients.
  • Engage directly with clients to ascertain precise demand forecasts.
  • Create and oversee forecasts and releases for direct materials from mills and processors.
  • Address all concerns related to mills and external suppliers.
  • Handle order entry, tracking, status updates, and market intelligence gathering.
  • Maintain a balanced inventory supply and demand.
  • Resolve supply and demand discrepancies in collaboration with relevant personnel.
  • Communicate professionally with clients via phone and email, managing any concerns they may have.
  • Build and nurture key relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Assist with facility upkeep, janitorial tasks, and general reception duties.
  • Be available to respond to business needs outside of regular working hours as necessary.
  • Act as a backup for plant management when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent planning, time management, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to comprehend and evaluate supply chain challenges and collaborate cross-functionally to address them.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • Exemplifies our core philosophy: positive attitude, teamwork, and self-motivation.
  • Familiarity with materials management concepts and terminology.
  • Proven capability to proactively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Oracle systems is advantageous.
  • Supports Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), 6-S, Continuous Improvement, and other progressive initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or related quantitative fields.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation: $43,576.00 - $65,363.00 annually
