About the Role:
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Shipper/Receiver to enhance our Supply Chain Operations West team. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient shipping, receiving, and distribution of inventory for our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory accuracy through FIFO/FEFO methods, conduct inventory allocations in eProgesa and SAP, and perform necessary inventory counts while identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Utilize organizational skills to receive, log, sort, and distribute products and mail effectively.
- Process all designated shipments and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for product receipt and distribution, including quality inspections.
- Facilitate product distribution to various departments as needed.
- Exercise attention to detail by identifying and preparing recalled, damaged, or expired inventory for disposal.
- Prepare bio-waste shipments and monitor warehouse temperatures, replacing charts as necessary.
Desired Qualifications:
- Completion of a secondary school program.
- At least two years of experience in a shipping/receiving role within a logistics environment, preferably in warehouse and inventory distribution.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes (FIFO and/or FEFO) is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating sound judgment and discretion.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, management, and stakeholders.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the capability to analyze reports and make informed recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook within a Windows operating system.
- Advanced knowledge of MRP systems software, ideally SAP.
- Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm is required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Maturity and capability to work with minimal supervision.
