Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary
Dynacare is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and process patient specimens, including blood samples and other biological materials, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and capillary puncture, to obtain high-quality specimens.
- Sort and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis, ensuring compliance with established protocols and regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient specimen processing and timely results.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and laboratory operations.
Requirements
- Secondary school diploma and completion of a Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Laboratory Assistant course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with patients and laboratory staff.
