Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Nature Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools. As a Nature Kindergarten Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering programming for our Nature Kindergarten program, which focuses on early learning play experiences in outdoor learning environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver programming for Nature-Kindergarten, incorporating art, music, and drama
  • Explore early learning play experiences in outdoor learning environments, including sensory supports and communication strategies
  • Create experiences to support the exploration of the world around us, especially within nature, while supporting language and communication with a learn-through-play philosophy
  • Implement Individual Program Plans (IPP's) and work collaboratively with Educational Assistants
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families and colleagues
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education and adapt programming accordingly
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • College Certificate in Catholic Education is considered an asset
  • Experience and/or specialization in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience working with children who have diverse learning needs and who require specialized accommodations and strategies to support those needs
  • Strong focus on literacy and numeracy
  • Good interpersonal skills and enthusiasm
