Heavy Equipment Technician Job Description

At Fine Gold Resources, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at our Placer Mine in the Yukon. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heavy equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and diagnose issues with heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles
  • Adjust and replace faulty parts to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with other Mechanics and Supervisors to resolve complex issues
  • Report damaged or faulty equipment to management
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Apprenticeship Documentation
  • Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Previous maintenance experience with Komatsu Dozers, Hitachi or John Deere Excavators is preferred but not required
  • Understanding of computer testing technologies
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment
  • Good communication skills
