About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, preparing and cooking meals, and ensuring the highest level of quality and service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet the demands of our residents.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Work Setting: Retirement home
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform repetitive tasks
