We are in search of a seasoned Business Technology Manager to enhance our Business Technology division within our financial services operations in Montreal.
The Business Systems Manager will report directly to the Senior Vice President – Business Technology and will oversee a team of business systems analysts responsible for crafting a business systems strategy for Maples Fiduciary that aligns with organizational needs. This role will collaborate with IT resources (including software developers and infrastructure engineers) and external partners to execute a suite of systems initiatives that reflect that strategy, while also providing support for business-specific systems utilized by Maples Fiduciary.Success in this role will yield business advantages such as increased operational efficiency, improved client service, enhanced access to business information, and more streamlined and effective controls.
The tactical responsibilities contribute to a broader goal – to introduce technological advancements and superior execution that will position Business Systems as a vital source of competitive edge for Maples Fiduciary.
Business Systems Strategy:
Collaborating with senior management at Maples Fiduciary to establish a business systems strategy that aligns with organizational objectives and commitments;
Business Systems Project Portfolio Management:
Defining and facilitating the prioritization of a portfolio of systems development and implementation projects that embody the business systems strategy;
Business Systems Project Delivery:
Ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of projects within the defined portfolio, while effectively communicating project status to business stakeholders and sponsors;
Business Systems Analysis:
Managing and continuously enhancing the business systems analyst capabilities for Maples Fiduciary, encompassing functions such as: (1) defining business requirements and functional specifications; (2) re-engineering business processes; (3) conducting user acceptance testing; (4) configuring systems; and (5) providing user support and training;
Vendor Management:
Taking charge of effectively managing external service providers for Fiduciary Business Systems, ensuring maximum value for expenditures, including prudent contracting, adherence to service level agreements, and diligent status tracking and reporting;
System Release Management:
Overseeing internal and external stakeholders, software developers, infrastructure resources, and vendors/consultants during the execution of release plans and managing responses to unforeseen events.
Candidates should possess 10+ years of relevant work experience, ideally at the Manager/Senior Manager level within a leading consulting firm (Big 4 or MBB), or have led an innovative team of business systems analysts within a financial institution;~10+ years of practical experience as a business systems analyst or equivalent in a pertinent industry;
~5+ years of management experience overseeing teams of 5-20 individuals;
~ Strong IT project management and delivery experience, with a proven track record of leading successful systems development, integration, and implementation initiatives;
~ Exceptional people management skills with the capability to lead a team, clients, and stakeholders while managing significant initiatives;
~ Strong problem-solving, risk management, change management, and communication skills;
~ Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputable university in industrial engineering, computer engineering, or management information systems.
