Job Profile: Medical Receptionist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Medical Receptionist to join our team at Insight Medical Imaging. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring a positive first impression of our clinic.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to our strict data protection policies.
  • Notify relevant departments of patient arrivals, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Prepare patients for exams, including portering and changing, to ensure a comfortable and stress-free experience.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the correct recipient, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Handle incoming reports and image requests, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Request previous exams from outside facilities, maintaining a comprehensive patient record.
  • Photocopy, fax, and mail documents as required, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Order and maintain adequate office inventory, ensuring our clinics are well-stocked and equipped to meet patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with Diagnostic Imaging staff, maintaining a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Maintain the utmost confidentiality of patient information and results, adhering to our strict data protection policies.
  • Schedule follow-up examinations and appointments, ensuring patients receive timely and accurate care.
  • Provide patients with exam preparations, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for their appointments.
  • Ensure the front waiting room is tidy and welcoming, reflecting positively on our clinic's image.
  • Unpack and distribute daily courier bags, maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Sign for and direct any deliveries and supplies, ensuring our clinics receive the necessary resources to operate effectively.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 graduate.
  • Computer experience with a minimum of 50 words per minute.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology are considered an asset.
  • Medical Office Assistant, Unit Clerk, or Medical Transcription program an asset.
