The Patient Food Services Supervisor is a vital position within the Nutrition and Food Services department, reporting directly to the Manager of Patient Food Services. This role is essential for overseeing food service operations at the facility level, ensuring that patients receive nutritious meals that support their health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to front-line staff, ensuring efficient meal service delivery.
- Foster a safe and productive work environment while mentoring team members.
- Manage budgets effectively and implement departmental initiatives to enhance service quality.
- Act as a liaison between site administration and patient care regarding food service matters.
- Collaborate with dietitians, healthcare professionals, patients, and their families to ensure dietary needs are met.
This supervisory role serves as an entry point into operations management within the Nutrition and Food Services sector, offering potential for career advancement.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor staff.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Experience in managing human, financial, and physical resources in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
- A proven track record of building effective working relationships independently.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including email, Word, and Excel.
Additional Requirements:
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to adhere to established dietary guidelines in menu execution and patient preferences. Experience in both hot and cold food production, as well as familiarity with service delivery methods, is advantageous. Knowledge of relevant software applications is also preferred.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in healthcare food services is beneficial. Familiarity with food service management systems can enhance a candidate's profile.
