Scott Venturo Rudakoff LLP, a mid-sized law firm in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking an experienced real estate legal assistant/paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential real estate transactions, with a minimum of two years of experience in drafting and processing legal and banking documents.

The Role:

  • Residential Real Estate Transactions: The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and processing legal and banking documents in the areas of purchase, sale, and refinance, from opening to closing files.
  • Client Communication: The candidate will communicate with clients, realtors, conveyancing offices, and third parties to ensure seamless transactions.
  • Due Diligence: The candidate will conduct tax and title searches, as well as other due diligence searches, to ensure the accuracy of the transaction.
  • Project Management: The candidate will manage closing dates and other deadlines, ensuring that all transactions are completed on time.
  • Documentation Management: The candidate will organize, track, and maintain documentation relevant to the files, and follow up as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Education: A Legal Administrative Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in real estate legal assistance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of MS Office, MS Outlook, and Utility (or other real estate software).
  • Additional Skills: Experience with commercial or builder transactions is an asset, as is excellent organizational skills.
  • Location: The candidate must be a current resident of Calgary, AB or surrounding area.

Job Type:

  • Full-time: The position is a full-time, permanent role.
  • Work Schedule: The candidate will work Monday to Friday, in-office.
  • Benefits: The position includes benefits, a competitive salary, and opportunities for professional growth.

Additional Information:

  • Pay: The salary range is $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year.
  • Benefits: The position includes bonus pay, overtime pay, company events, dental care, extended health care, life insurance, paid time off, RRSP match, and a wellness program.
