Robertson and Company is collaborating with a prominent financial services provider with extensive holdings across North America. This institution operates in various sectors, including corporate and institutional services, wealth management, private banking, commercial finance, treasury operations, and retail banking.

Position Overview: We are in search of a proficient Quality Control Analyst to become a part of our client's team.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Compensation:

Independent Contractor: $53.01 per hour

Employee: $46.53 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough quality assessments on a wide array of money laundering investigation activities to support compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) regulations aimed at identifying and reporting financial crimes.
  • Assess ML/TF risks by performing quality evaluations on cases and alerts as part of the oversight of the organization's AML and ATF initiatives.
  • Analyze potentially suspicious account activities, recognizing and evaluating accounts and transactions, and effectively documenting recommendations for account retention or regulatory reporting.
  • Provide management with trend analyses of AML/ATF findings and identify gaps for review.
  • Foster a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes aligned with the organization's risk appetite.
  • Navigate ambiguity and utilize judgment to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve ongoing operational challenges.
  • Assist the quality control function in developing, drafting, and maintaining written policies, procedures, and frameworks to minimize compliance breaches and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet service level agreement (SLA) requirements for productivity.
  • Act as a project lead on various initiatives and represent the organization in meetings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience as a Quality Control Analyst.
  • Background in Anti-Money Laundering.
  • Investigative experience in AML.
  • Familiarity with Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR).
  • Experience assessing a diverse range of ML/TF risks across multiple customer and product types, with the ability to articulate findings in a summary of recommendations.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations, including the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
