Registered Dietitian

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our dynamic team in the field of inpatient clinical nutrition.

As a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients within an acute care setting. Your expertise will contribute significantly to improving patient outcomes and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for patients with diverse medical conditions.
• Provide expert counseling and education to patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding dietary needs and management.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to established protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Dietetic Internship Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
• Registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Registered Dietitian, preferably in an inpatient clinical setting.
• Proficiency in dysphagia management and nutrition support.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
