Pharmacy Manager Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications to patients. The Pharmacy Manager will also be responsible for supervising and guiding staff, ensuring adequate inventory levels, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy staff
- Responsible for hiring and managing staff performance
- Accountable for the financial and operational success of the pharmacy department
- Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely
- Ensure medication inventory levels are adequate to meet patient needs
- Counsel patients on new and additional medications in a friendly and professional manner
- Create awareness and educate customers through public relations and community events
- Provide timely and positive resolution to patient needs and doctor requests
- Review and control costs at all levels within the pharmacy department
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacist license
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong people management skills and ability to motivate and coach others
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism
- Proven ability to build business using community-based marketing strategies
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience formulating and executing action plans
- Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Health Watch Pharmacy Computer system
