Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel, Compliance to join our legal team at Rewiring America. This role combines high-level strategic responsibilities with hands-on legal work, focusing on compliance and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement compliance programs and initiatives to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government entities, public and private supporters, and non-profit partners.
  • Conduct audits and internal investigations to identify and address potential areas of non-compliance.
  • Provide advice and guidance on procurement, reporting, and other obligations related to Rewiring America's role as a federal grant subrecipient.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in compliance.
  • Provide support in responding to legal and regulatory inquiries and investigations.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law with a focus on government contracts and non-profit compliance. They will be a creative problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity with a sense of humor.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with a state bar. Experience conducting internal investigations and audits is also highly desirable.
