Safety Management Specialist

Roska DBO Inc. is in search of a Health and Safety Consultant to support our esteemed oil and gas client. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Process Operations or Drilling and Completions, alongside substantial experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) advisory role, holding an NCSO designation. This position is intended for the long term, and candidates should be local to the area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive field safety audits to assess HSE management systems and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Lead thorough incident investigations to identify root causes, and develop and implement corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Establish and maintain a system for tracking regulatory and industry developments related to Health, Safety, and Environment.
  • Ensure that all personnel, including employees, contractors, site supervisors, and service providers, understand and execute operational tasks in line with corporate standards.
  • Offer technical guidance on HSE-related issues as necessary.
  • Revise and enforce standards, procedures, and programs as needed.
  • Conduct field safety inspections and worksite assessments, and actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox discussions, and pre-project briefings.
  • Generate accurate and reliable reports and statistics concerning HSE incidents and accidents.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to field personnel regarding Risk Management and Hazard Assessments.
  • Support and train staff in Health and Safety protocols and best practices.
  • Implement new HSE policies, regulations, and directives from headquarters.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oilfield sector.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in facility construction, production, or drilling and completion.
  • 3-5 years of advancing HSE advisory experience in facility construction, production, or drilling and completion.
  • Possession of CRSP designation, NCSO, or Occupational Health & Safety Certification is advantageous.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
