Job Summary

The Provincial Coordinator, Clinical Trials Training Program is a key role in the development and delivery of the CANTRAIN education, experiential, and mentorship programs. This position requires close partnership with Clinical Trials BC for partnership development and maintenance of clinical trials' training and mentoring of clinical trials specialists and students.

This role involves working in collaboration with Clinical Trials BC and national CANTRAIN to develop and execute creative strategies for virtual and occasional in-person education delivery. The position also will work to develop and leverage opportunities for virtual and in-person capacity building in partnership with local, provincial, and national service providers, and maintain and implement CANTRAIN's Knowledge Management Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver CANTRAIN clinical trial training programs/streams and capacity building initiatives to frontline learners and practitioners.
  • Identify new opportunities for the CANTRAIN Clinical Trial Training Platform; engage in capacity building and curate sessions for regional, provincial, and national audiences.
  • Collect and analyze evaluation data on CANTRAIN educational programs to provide timely and accurate entries into CANTRAIN's key performance indicator database.
  • Support other CANTRAIN Health Educators in the delivery of programs.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships between CANTRAIN and provincial organizations working in the conduct of clinical trials.
  • Lead provincial and topic-specific outreach activities to increase awareness of CANTRAIN's services.
  • Maintain provincial profiles for assigned region(s).
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in clear, concise business English.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theory and educational methodologies, and/or experience teaching adults to develop, present, and facilitate workshops to diverse audiences virtually and in person.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute engaging and useful virtual and in-person educational and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Understanding of Clinical Trials' training related resources and services at the regional, provincial, and national levels in Canada.
  • Ability to communicate in an empathetic manner using clear, simple, and sensitive language.
  • Superior presentation and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build strategic and working relationships with various partners to inform and implement projects.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with under-served and under-represented communities within a culturally safe and healthy equity framework.
  • Motivated, strategic thinking and ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Ability to accommodate meetings held in different time zones in Canada.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, to research issues, and come to an appropriate decision.
