Job Title: Java Application Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Application Designer to join our team at Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for driving the overall software development lifecycle, working across functional teams to transform requirements into features, managing development teams and processes, and conducting software testing and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate user requirements into technical specifications, writing code, and managing the preparation of design specifications.
  • Apply deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and programming languages to develop high-quality technology applications and services.
  • Ensure that code/configurations adhere to security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non-functional requirements.
  • Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program/system/eco-system and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk.
  • Follow release management processes and standards, and apply version controls.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Backend - Core Java and jdk 8+ features, Spring Framework/Features (core, Testing, Data access, MVC, Integrations), PL/SQL, JPA, Spring boot, IBM WebSphere App Server
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Frontend - Angular
  • Creative thinking, building and managing relationships, quality assurance and testing, technology business requirements definition, analysis and mapping, test driven development
  • Typically between 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
