As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, clients, and the general public.
Key Responsibilities- Lead safety initiatives on project sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct project-specific safety orientations for all workers and visitors.
- Inspect equipment and report any non-compliant conditions to the responsible project Superintendent/Supervisor.
- Assist in conducting BBS assessments and confirm that controlled products supplied to projects are accompanied by current SDS/MSDS documentation.
- Attend and participate in HSE meetings, review incident reports, and maintain monthly statistics to identify undesirable trends.
- Conduct project inspections with the project Superintendent and workers to support hazard identification.
- Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors.
- Interact with regulatory bodies and clients, taking a hands-on approach and acting as the point of contact.
- Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviors that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Road to Zero.
- High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
- Certification in Health and Safety, or a safety designation is an asset.
- 2-3 years of experience in safety or a related field.
- Understanding of how HSE MS systems work.
- Understanding of general constructability.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
