Overview:

The Mircom Group of Companies is in search of a Quality Assurance Specialist focused on Fire, Communication, Automation, and related smart building technologies. The ideal candidate will be tasked with ensuring the reliability and performance of our products, as well as conducting pre-certification evaluations for regulatory organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Formulate testing strategies and protocols for validating networked fire alarm control systems and configuration tools. Create comprehensive documentation for testing processes and regression testing plans. Execute feature, functionality, stability, and regression assessments of products. Design, establish, and oversee personal laboratory testing networks. Collaborate with the QA testing team and Product Developers to synchronize testing efforts. Aid in replicating customer-reported issues within the QA laboratory. Provide constructive feedback to developers to enhance product usability.

Qualifications & Skills:

At least 2 years of experience in QA testing or a related field. In-depth understanding of both wired and wireless networking protocols. Proficient knowledge of IT infrastructure and the setup and operation of networking equipment. Familiarity with cloud-based software solutions. Capability to utilize network protocol analyzers for troubleshooting and analyzing networking and communication challenges. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Self-driven and effective in a collaborative team setting. Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, BDM, and FPGA Programming is advantageous. Proficient in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems. Background in working with electronic circuits and engineering laboratory testing equipment. Ability to interpret schematics and modify hardware is a plus. Familiarity with issue tracking and management tools like Bugzilla and JIRA. Practical experience with product installation and configuration using hand tools. Maintain a tidy and professional workspace. Diploma in electronics or related electro-mechanical technology. Degree in electrical, software, or mechanical engineering.
