Are you a skilled communicator looking for a challenging role in the Government of Alberta? We are seeking a Communications Advisor to join our team in Communications and Public Engagement (CPE). As a Communications Advisor, you will provide consulting services and support to clients, collaborating closely with other communications advisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and attend ministerial announcements
  • Create engaging communications materials
  • Leverage social media and digital platforms effectively
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement strategic communications plans and key messages
  • Apply creativity and innovation to tackle projects and solve complex problems
  • Research, write, and edit a variety of communications tools
  • Plan, prepare, and execute communications events and media availabilities
  • Support cross-government communications initiatives
  • Assist senior branch members as needed
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, English or a related field
  • Minimum of four years of directly related communications or correspondence experience
  • Experience with media event planning

As a Communications Advisor, you will need to understand the goals and priorities of the Government of Alberta and how they align with ministry deliverables and stakeholder needs.
