Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials efficiently.
  • Inspect vehicle conditions, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Handle payments for goods and manage financial transactions.
  • Conduct emergency roadside repairs as necessary.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all vehicle aspects.
  • Execute preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch, relaying necessary information.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo information, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping techniques.
Required Certifications
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (for semi-trailer trucks)
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Documentation Skills
  • Proficient in completing accident or incident reports.
  • Maintain a driver logbook accurately.
Technical Skills
  • Experience operating GPS and other navigation systems.
Transportation Information
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence.
