Job Summary

Ottawa Transport is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and transporting goods across various routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional customer service to clients and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Inspections: Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by tarping and securing it properly.
Requirements
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possess a valid AZ class license and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: Have experience in truck driving, preferably with a tractor-trailer.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Possess efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work in a team environment.
