Job Title: Registered Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Shoppers Drug Mart Inc.

About the Role:

This is a full-time regular position that requires a strong commitment to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all prescription orders. As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for conducting product verification, verifying prescriptions using pharmacy systems, and preparing and packaging medications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Practice within federal/provincial, regulatory/legal requirements, provincial Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and Policies
  • Conduct product verification on all prescriptions prepared to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Verify prescriptions using pharmacy systems
  • Assist with prescription fulfillment as required
  • Prepare and package medications
  • Ensure product in each vial is correct and correctly labelled
  • Prepare prescriptions for delivery
  • Operate and maintain prescription automation equipment
  • Support inventory management and ensure proper stock levels
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, disposal of drugs, and return to stock procedure following SOPs
Requirements:
  • Valid license to practice in the province
  • A minimum of 1 year of continuous work experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in a pharmacy environment
  • Experience with high-volume filling environments is an asset
  • Practical written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player and leadership skills
  • Ability to complete work with minimum supervision
