Job Title: Managing Director, Early Childhood Services

Pacekids Programs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Director, Early Childhood Services to lead our Early Childhood Services (ECS) team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive the growth and success of our ECS programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the direction of all new and existing ECS related programs, ensuring alignment with Pacekids' vision, mission, and values.
  • Manage a team of staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure they have the resources and support needed to achieve program objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets for ECS programs, ensuring fiscal controls are in place to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the senior leadership team to identify areas for growth and implement program and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure programs meet all funding requirements and identify opportunities for growth in programming.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including donors, alumni/ae, clients, staff, and members of the board.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree with a focus on education and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a leadership role, or equivalent.
  • Proven success in forecasting, developing, and managing complex budgets.
  • Previous direct experience working in the non-profit, education or human services sector, including strategic planning and implementation of operational goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge and proven ability to work with ECS programming and funding is an asset.
  • Proven leadership ability and experience in recruiting, motivating, and supporting staff.
  • Human resource knowledge and experience managing large teams.
  • Experience with government contracts and funding.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with a track record of meeting commitments and deadlines.
  • High level of effective project management skills, supervisory skills, leadership skills, facilitation skills, personal initiative and teamwork.
  • Possess good listening skills, sound judgement, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong focus on customer service – both internally and externally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in the English language.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to meet reporting requirements of funding agencies.
  • The ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy dealing with children, families, staff, and collaborators - must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
