Job Title: Community Forensic Mental Health Specialist

At Shared Health, we are committed to providing exceptional mental health and addiction services to individuals in need. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Forensic Mental Health Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

The Community Forensic Mental Health Specialist will provide a range of services to individuals experiencing mental health disorders who have been found unfit to stand trial or not criminally responsible. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clients, families, and community partners to promote recovery, restoration, and maintenance of health functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, treatment, and support services to clients in community settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with community partners, including law enforcement, courts, and social services, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide education and training to community workers on forensic mental health issues and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum of four years' experience in community mental health.
  • BSW, BSc.MH, BSc.PN, BN, OT, or other related health and human service degree required.
  • Licensure/Registration as per professional designation required.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the bio/psycho/social model of mental illness and recovery.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective networking and agency relations skills.
  • Working knowledge of the forensic and criminal justice systems an asset.
