Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company\u2019s risk management framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk appetite.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, analyzing contracts, documents, statistics, reports, and market trends to identify potential risks.
  • Evaluate and quantify risks, determining costs, legal requirements, environmental factors, and historical loss analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on risk and insurance matters to internal stakeholders, including Operations and Corporate Services.
  • Oversee outsourced service providers in insurance, finance, and legal areas, ensuring effective risk management.
  • Participate in negotiations with owners and third parties to manage project financial risk.
  • Develop innovative risk management techniques to mitigate and finance risk costs.
  • Enhance risk awareness and education among the organization, promoting a culture of risk management.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management and/or insurance.
  • Strong leadership skills and results-oriented approach.
  • Post-secondary degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or Law.
  • Technical expertise in insurance and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed, results-driven, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with emphasis on presentation, negotiation, and influencing others.
  • Ability to understand complex business issues and lead high-performance teams.
