About the Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Video Journalist to join our CityNews Calgary team. As a Video Journalist, you will work with a dynamic team to produce creative stories that capture daily life in Calgary. Your role will involve coming up with original story ideas, producing original stories, and delivering them across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce creative stories that showcase the diversity and excitement of Calgary's communities.
  • Collaborate with the team to produce high-quality video content that meets the needs of our audience.
  • Conduct research and interviews to gather information and insights for your stories.
  • Write and edit scripts to ensure engaging and informative content.
  • Shoot and edit video footage to create compelling visual stories.
  • Work with the team to develop and implement a content strategy that meets the needs of our audience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure our content remains relevant and engaging.

Requirements

  • Passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of what makes a great story.
  • Ability to find original stories about people and issues that reflect Calgary's diverse communities.
  • Experience in shooting and editing video content.
  • Self-starter with a can-do, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Understanding of multi-platform coverage and the ability to deliver content across multiple channels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
