What You'll Do Here:

  • Assist in the development of proposals for engineering services and engineered equipment.
  • Draft technical specifications to define scope, functional design, construction codes, and project deliverables.
  • Create manhour estimates, risk assessments, and proposal packages as required by management.
  • Prepare and/or finalize Design Service Provider (DSP) specifications and requirements.
  • Review and approve technical specifications in line with Aecon's operational procedures.
  • Lead constructability assessments and design verification walkthroughs during the design phase of EPC projects.
  • Evaluate and accept DSP products, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Facilitate and monitor design progress regularly with the DSP.
  • Conduct visits to DSP and Vendor offices to assess progress and testing activities as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the client and DSP during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Oversee the preparation and/or approval of final system turnover documents, including as-builts and construction completion reports.
  • Address functional and design deficiencies with engineered equipment suppliers.
  • Support the Project Manager with change request creation and approval as needed.
  • Assist the Project Manager with cost and schedule management as required.
  • May take on the role of Modification Team Lead (MTL) for specific contracts.
  • Provide oversight or review of red-line drawings and coordinate final as-builts with the DSP.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to project coordinators.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • 8-10 years of experience in the design and construction of EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with the design and operation of nuclear power facilities.
  • Working knowledge of CANDU nuclear plant systems and components.
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards, including CSA N285, N286, and N299 series, as well as ASME codes relevant to power piping and pressure boundary work.
  • Proficient knowledge of power industry codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, CSA, ESA, etc.).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating directly with DSPs and trades across various disciplines.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • A valid P.Eng license is mandatory.
  • Project management experience is considered an asset.
