Overview:
The Mircom Group of Companies is in search of a Quality Assurance Specialist dedicated to Fire, Communication, Automation, and advanced smart building solutions. The ideal candidate will take charge of product verification and stability assessments, along with conducting pre-certification evaluations for regulatory entities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Formulate testing strategies and methodologies for the validation of networked fire alarm control systems and configuration tools.
- Create comprehensive documentation for testing procedures and regression testing plans.
- Execute feature, functionality, stability, and regression tests on products.
- Design, establish, and oversee personal laboratory testing networks.
- Collaborate with the QA testing team and Product Developers to synchronize testing efforts.
- Aid in replicating customer issues within the QA laboratory.
- Offer constructive feedback to developers to enhance product usability.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in QA testing or a related field.
- Proficient understanding of both wired and wireless networking protocols.
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure and the setup and operation of networking equipment.
- Familiarity with cloud-based software applications.
- Competence in utilizing network protocol analyzers for troubleshooting and analyzing networking and communication challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Self-driven and capable of thriving in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, BDM, and FPGA Programming is advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems.
- Experience in working with electronic circuits and engineering lab testing equipment.
- Ability to interpret schematics and modify hardware is a plus.
- Familiarity with issue tracking and management tools like Bugzilla and JIRA.
- Practical experience with product installation and configuration using hand tools.
- Maintain a tidy and professional workspace.
Educational Background:
- Diploma in electronics or related electro-mechanical technology.
- Degree in electrical, software, or mechanical engineering.
