About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Assistant to join our team at Planet Wood Exteriors Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Transport Materials: Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Erect and Dismantle Structures: Help in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Assist in Framing and Building: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs under the guidance of experienced carpenters.
  • Earthwork and Cleanup: Assist in leveling earth to fine grade specifications and cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants at construction sites.
  • Debris Removal: Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance and Operation: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, ensuring they are properly maintained and operated.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment. The successful candidate will be required to work at various locations and be willing to adapt to changing work conditions.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a willingness to learn and train is essential.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn on the job.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime as required.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
