Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Financial Resources, the Financial Operations Director plans, directs, organizes, and monitors financial, accounting, and accountability operations for research, trust, and endowment funds for the entire University.
The successful candidate will provide leadership in designing and implementing policies and procedures, offering professional assistance to researchers and decentralized administrators in the faculties and services, and ensuring service excellence in preparing and sending all financial reports for research, trust, and endowment funds.
Key responsibilities include planning and leading financial, accounting, and accountability operations related to research, trust, and endowment activities to respond to funding agency reporting requirements and mitigate related risks.
The Financial Operations Director will also ensure good communication between Financial Resources and the entire University community, compile research, trust, and endowment section reports in accordance with accounting standards, and enforce strict standards with respect to the integrity and accuracy of endowment funds.
Requirements include ten years' experience in the education sector or a large business, including at least six years in a financial management position, experience in managing human resources and leading a team, experience in short-, medium-, and long-term strategic planning, and experience in using major financial software and computer programs.
