Ontario Power Generation Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Technical Engineer/Officer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the evaluation, consideration, and proposal of projects within our nuclear facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update operating procedures and instructions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for budget preparation and variance monitoring.
- Supervise and mentor staff to ensure effective completion of tasks and projects.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Develop and prepare specifications for purchasing requisitions and coordinate with procurement teams.
- Prepare reports to provide information and data in response to external requests.
- Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve complex problems, and coordinate technical work.
- Recommend research and development programs to improve equipment reliability.
- Review proposals from internal and external sources related to assigned areas.
Requirements
- 4 years of university education in Electrical, Nuclear, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent level of education.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in system engineering, performance engineering, or nuclear power plant operations.
- Training and experience in the design, development, or operation of a nuclear facility.
- Experience in solving complex problems and making recommendations during the design and operation of a nuclear facility.
- Knowledge of physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, electricity, engineering, and economics.
- Advanced knowledge in one or more subjects to evaluate and propose improvements.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
