About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and creative writer to join our product engineering team at Esri. As a Product Engineering Content Specialist II, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging content that showcases the capabilities of our hosted imagery and raster analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality documentation in the ArcGIS Help system to educate users on the effective use of hosted imagery and raster analytics.
  • Create informative blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials that provide valuable insights and best practices for GIS practitioners working with imagery and raster analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, product marketing, product management, documentation, sales, and other stakeholders to develop learning resources that highlight the benefits of imagery capabilities in ArcGIS.
Requirements
  • Portfolio Submission: Please provide writing samples of your recent work that demonstrate your expertise in creating engaging content.
  • At least 2 years of professional writing experience related to satellite imagery, drone imagery, remote sensing, or GIS.
  • Experience with web-based content management systems to create and publish documents.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, and compelling content.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work proactively and volunteer assistance when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent work.
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, remote sensing, English, or a related field.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this posting. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Blended background including technical and creative writing.
  • Familiarity with image processing, management, and analysis.
  • Experience with ArcGIS.
  • Exposure to web development patterns using REST and Python.
  • Master's degree in GIS, remote sensing, English, or a related field.
